THIS IS WHAT YOU SHOULD KEEP IN MIND WHEN UPDATING THE VERSION OF ONE OF OUR MODULES:
Try as much as possible to do it as close to our working days and hours (Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Colombia time) so that in case there is an error we can help you.
If you get to present any errors, we recommend you activate the "Test mode" of the module while one of our developers is in charge of reviewing it (or deactivate the module in case you cannot configure it)
When presenting an error at the time of installation, we ask you to send us screenshots or video of the error through a ticket and send temporary access to the BackOffice and FTP of your store to review and give you a faster solution.
Important: Before making any changes or updates to the version of your module, you must make a backup of the translations and modifications you have made, so that you do not lose them.
The steps to update any module to the latest version are very simple:
Login via FTP to your store.
Go to the path: /modules/ and search for the name of the module, for example “onepagecheckoutps” and rename it, for example: “onepagecheckoutps_xx-xx-xxxx” where the “x” are the current date.
Upload the new module folder that contains the .zip that is downloaded from our store.
Go to BackOffice → Modules and enter the module configuration.
When entering it will show you a message that notifies you of the version change and that, if you want to update it, so we give it yes.
To ensure that it picks up all changes, go to BackOffice → Advanced Settings → Performance and click the top button “Clear Cache”.
It is also recommended to clear the cache and cookies of your browser.
If you want to do it faster and you don't want to make a backup of the version you had, you can simply enter the BackOffice → Modules → Module manager and click the upper button “ Upload a module ”, select our .zip and upload it, then You just have to follow the steps from number 4.
“In some servers it will not be possible to do this due to limitations, and all the previous steps must be done if or if.”
WHY CAN UPDATE ERRORS OCCUR?
You are upgrading the module version from a very old version.
Compatibility issues with another module or its version → when a module updates its version sometimes the code changes and this causes compatibility errors.
An error may occur when copying the changes made in the overrides to the store.
